With sales in excess of 20 million, this arena-rock band is coming to Whatcom County

Southern rock bank 38 Special will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.

The band has released more than 15 albums since 1976 with sales in excess of 20 million. It’s known for the arena-rock pop songs “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You,” “Fantasy Girl,” “If I’d Been the One,” “Back WhereYou Belong,” “Chain Lightnin’” and “Second Chance.”

Ticket prices for the Bank of the Pacific Grandstand Entertainment Series concert are $40 for preferred chairs, $35 for grandstand preferred seating and $30 for grandstand reserved.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, and do not include fair gate admission, which is required. A ticket presale is available at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, for those who subscribe to the “Friends of the Fair” email list.

Tickets can be purchased online, by calling 360-354-4111 or by visiting the fair office at 1775 Front St.

The Northwest Washington Fair takes place Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 10-19.

The fair earlier announced country singer Chase Rice will perform at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17.
