Music: Funk, hip-hop and Afro-beat at the Green Frog

The High and Mighty Brass Band combines classic New Orleans funk and R&B with modern Afro-beat and hip-hop influences.

Hailing from Brooklyn, they have rocked out at several of the top U.S. music festivals, including Bonnaroo and Governors Ball. The band has toured with Galactic and shared the stage with such groups The Flaming Lips, Cyril Neville, Dr. John and Trombone Shorty.

They will play at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at the Green Frog, 1015 N. State St., playing between gigs at the Nectar Lounge in Seattle and the Wanderlust Yoga Festival in Whistler, B.C. Cover is $7.
