The Community Food Co-op’s Third Thursday Local Music Series features the Quickdraw String Band from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at the Downtown Community Food Co-op deli, 1220 N. Forest St.

With a repertoire of old-time, early bluegrass, country blues, and ragtime, Quickdraw’s energetic approach and innovative interpretations make it easy to see how the band has become one of the most distinctive acts around Whatcom County. Quickdraw —Dave Maguire, Matt Novak and Allegra Ziffle — performs various configurations on mandolin, fiddle, guitar, dobro and vocals.
