Here’s when Bells baseball games will feature fireworks, food trucks, giveaways

The Bellingham Bells started their summer season on May 31 and are now second in their division.

Playing teams such as the Port Angeles Lefties, the Wenatchee AppleSox and the Victoria HarbourCats, the Bells had a record of 6 wins and 4 losses on June 16.

The Bells’ schedule includes 22 more home games before the season ends Aug. 7. They’re back in Bellingham Tuesday, June 21, for a three-day home stand against Port Angeles.

For those looking to attend, here’s what you need to know:

Firework nights

There are only two more nights to enjoy a post-game fireworks show. On Saturday, July 3, the fireworks will be presented by WECU. The last fireworks show of the season will take place Saturday, Aug. 6, and will be presented by John L. Scott Bellingham.

Food truck Fridays

Food truck Fridays will feature various food trucks and music before the first pitch.

There are four Food Truck Fridays remaining in the season, so those looking for a fun pre-game meal should attend the Bells’ games on July 1, July 15, July 22 or Aug. 5.

$2 Tuesdays

For those looking for discounted tickets, three game days offer a buy one ticket, get one for $2 deal.

The $2 Tuesdays events will also feature special $2 food and drink specials.

The discounted tickets are available for games on June 21, July 5 and Aug. 2.

Community Wednesdays

The Bells have three remaining “Community Wednesday” game nights where the team gives back to those in Bellingham. Tickets purchased for these games will benefit a local nonprofit.

On June 15, the Bells donated $1 for every ticket sold to the D.I.S.H. Foundation, a Bellingham nonprofit that works to employ persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Puget Sound Energy, the sponsor of Community Wednesdays, also pledged to donate $100 for every Bells run scored at the game.

The last three Community Wednesdays will take place June 22, July 6 and Aug. 3. The Bells have yet to announce what nonprofits will be supported on these game days.

Kids get in free Sundays

Children ages 12 and under can see the Bells play for free on certain Sundays this season.

The events, sponsored by PeaceHealth, also include special kids’ activities before and during the game.

There are four remaining Kids Get in Free Sundays on July 3, July 17, July 24 and Aug. 7.
