Benefit: Animals as Natural Therapy hosts July 11 benefit

Get ready to kick up your heels at the annual Bluegrass Bash, a fun family day featuring two bluegrass bands, Prozac Mtn Boys and Moongrass, from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at Windy Acres Farm, 721 Van Wyck Road,

The event benefits Animal as Natural Therapy, an organization based on the knowledge that animals can help humans develop important life skills such as mutual respect, trust, clear communication, and leadership. At Windy Acres Farm, the peaceful, secluded spot offers healing work for the animals — such as horses, dogs and farm animals — and their human partners. Meet the therapy animals, learn about horse-whispering, enjoy games and partake in a home-style salmon barbecue.

Admission is $10 youths, $20 adults, free for kids 10 and younger.

Parking is available at Bank of the Pacific, 4124 Hannegan Road, with free shuttle service to and from the farm. There will be limited parking on-site for families with car seats and visitors with disabilities. Details: 360-671-3509, animalsasnaturaltherapy.org.
