Dance: Salsa dance and music fest runs July 10-12
Rumba Northwest presents an all-ages “Viva Cuba: Salsa Fest,” kicking off Friday, July 10, with Seattle dance group La Clave Cubana playing at 7 p.m. at Cafe Rumba, 1140 N. State St., followed by guest DJ’s Dre and Ofer from 9:30 to midnight, with a dance lesson by Rumba Northwest ($10).
Workshops take place from 1 to 5:15 p.m. Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, with guest instructor Wilfredo Guilbia at Bell Tower Studios, 1430 N. Garden St.
Seattle band Cambalache plays from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth (BAAY), 1059 N. State St., with dance performances by Rumba Northwest, La Clave Cubana and Cubasere. Purchase tickets to Saturday’s concert through Brown Paper Tickets, or at Cafe Rumba ($15 adults, $10 students, and $20 and $15 at the door.
