Theater: Megan Cole blends medicine, theater at iDiOM
Award-winning stage and screen actor Megan Cole presents a one-night sharing of “Storytime for Grownups: Turning Points,” a solo piece about anticipated and unanticipated transitions in one’s life, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at iDiOM Theater, 1418 Cornwall Ave.
The performance, held in conjunction with the Palliative Care Summer Institute conference at Western Washington University, is full of laughter and the nuances of Cole’s storytelling style. In the world of medical theater, Cole combines science and the performing arts to facilitate groups of health-care professionals in the skills of empathic communication. Known both for her ground-breaking portrayal of Dr. Vivian Bearing in the play “Wit” and for her work at medical teaching hospitals, Cole is a resource to doctors and patients alike.
