Now in its 22nd season, the Bellingham Festival of Music, which takes place July 3 through 19, features orchestra and chamber music concerts, recitals, and master classes that reflect the musical range and remarkable achievements of the orchestra’s musicians, guest artists, and artistic director Michael Palmer, who will lead a festival orchestra featuring world-class musicians from major North American orchestras.
Most concerts take place at Western Washington University, with additional concerts at Bellingham Cruise Terminal and Whatcom Museum.
This season’s guest artists include Vadim Gluzman, violin; Katie Van Kooten, soprano; the Calidore String Quartet; Alex Hanna, double bass; Arnaldo Cohen, piano; Richard Clement, tenor; Ilana Davidson, soprano; Morris Robinson, bass; John Tibbets, tenor; and Maria Valdes, soprano.
A free pre-concert lecture begins at 6:30 p.m. in the WWU PAC Concert Hall before each of the five orchestral concerts.
