Families: Celebrate International Fairy Day
A Bellingham children’s book writer and illustrator will be at a local nursery this weekend in celebration of International Fairy Day (June 24), when wishes are supposed to come true.
MaryElaine DeGood-Wheatley marks the publication of her “In the Mt. Baker Faerie Forest” children’s activity book. She’ll be at the Garden Spot, 900 Alabama St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20. She’ll have free activities including face painting, kiss stickers and a crown. Children are encouraged to dress in costume for a noon parade.
You’ll find “In the Mt. Baker Faerie Forest” at Village Books in Fairhaven, The Owl and Compass in Lynden, and online at lainewheatley.com.
