The B-52s —Cindy Wilson, Fred Schneider and Kate Pierson — perhaps best known for their hit song “Love Shack,” perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, at Mount Baker Theatre, 104 N. Commercial St.
Formed in Georgia in the late ’70s, they named themselves after Southern slang for a beehive hairdo that resembled the nose of an aircraft. Their first single, “Rock Lobster” in 1978, was an underground hit. With their energetic, post-punk live shows, more than 500,000 copies.
Now, more than 30 years and 20 million albums later, the group is still a beloved party band. The touring band also features Sterling Campbell, Paul Gordon and Tracy Wormworth.
Tickets, $49 to $89, are at 360-734-6080 and mountbakertheatre.com.
