Established in 1963, the Deming Logging Show was inspired by the need to financially help loggers who were injured in the woods in Whatcom County. From events and exhibitions, loggers display the skills, tools and technology used in the logging industry.
Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, at the Logging Showgrounds, 3295 Cedarville Road, near Nugents Corner. Shows starts at 1 p.m. each day, with eliminations starting at 11 a.m. Saturday only. Admission is $7 adults, $4 for those 62 and older and ages 6-12, and free for kids 5 and younger.
Events include the American Legion breakfast at 6 a.m., and the Ladies Auxiliary coffee and muffins at 9 a.m. Gates and souvenir shacks open at 10 a.m. Eliminations and exhibitions start at 11.
Barbecue also opens at 11 a.m., and costs $10 for beef or chicken plate, $12 for salmon plate, $15 for combo, and $20 for logger special. Meals for seniors and kids are $8.

The Ladies Auxiliary strawberry shortcake and taco salads open at 11 a.m., and American Legion burgers and hot dogs open at 11:30.
