Budding meteorologists can learn all about clouds at LOTT’s WET Science Center Saturday. Staff from the center will offer a program titled “Clouds and Weather: A Very Cirrus Topic.”
The presentation will answer questions like why some clouds are shaped like dragons and others look like pancakes. The program will include a discussion of the science of meteorology, as well as some tangents about Oort clouds and cloud seeding.
Participants will then learn how to become a citizen scientist and contribute real weather data for professional use. Two lucky participants will receive free rain gauges. There will be cloud crafts all day in the classroom.
The free program will begin at 2 p.m.
