To celebrate International Migratory Bird Day, two Olympia organizations will hold a bird walk Saturday at Tumwater Historical Park.
The joint field trip has been put together by the Deschutes Estuary Restoration Team and Black Hills Audubon Society to celebrate migrant birds in the area. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Restore Habitat, Restore Birds.”
The day, celebrated worldwide, is an international education program that highlights the migration of nearly 350 species of birds between their nesting habitats in North America and their non-breeding grounds in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The walk will take place from 7:30-9:30 a.m. The park is at 777 Simmons Lane SW, Tumwater.
