Selah Community Days

WHAT: The annual celebration, held the third weekend in May, offers a parade, carnival, entertainment, car show, fireworks and more.

WHEN: May 14-17.

WHERE: Selah.

MAY 14 HIGHLIGHTS: One of the first major events is the Hobo Feed, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The meal includes beef stew, hot dog, garlic bread, pie and beverages. The cost is $5; children 4 and younger eat for free. The meal will be held at the Selah Covenant Church.

MAY 15 HIGHLIGHTS: Among the day’s events will be the Cruz Nite Car, Bike and Truck Show. It will run from 7-10 p.m. in Wixson Park, and will include a poker run in the Selah area. The Selah Chamber of Commerce will hold a potato extravaganza at the Civic Center from 5-8 p.m. Baked potatoes with toppings will be $6 and hot dogs will be $4.

MAY 16 HIGHLIGHTS: The day starts will a pancake breakfast at the Civic Center from 6-10 a.m. That will be followed by the parade. There will be fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

MAY 17 HIGHLIGHTS: This will be Armed Forces Appreciation Day, including a ceremony at noon. There will be an eating contest and the carnival runs from noon-5 p.m.

COST: Many events are free, but there will be a charge for some activities.
