F&G’s free fishing trailer starts its season Saturday in Meridian
The trailer will be at Julius Kleiner Memorial Park, 1900 N. Records Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11. The trailer is stocked with free loaner fishing gear, and F&G staffers give lessons on how to catch trout at the pond.
A fishing license is not needed by any participant who registers at the trailer for the duration of the event, regardless of age or residency. The trailer will also be at Settlers Pond from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 15.
Two trails closed on Mountain Home Ranger District
The Mountain Home Ranger District will temporarily close the Roaring River and William Pogue National Recreation trails because of significant storm damage.
Portions of the trail located in Elmore County are completely washed out and a massive amount of rock, burnt timber and mud eliminated the trail tread. The flash flood last year also moved two bridges on the Roaring River trail nearly a half-mile. There is no estimate for when the repairs will be completed.
