On the road for April 10

Astoria Crab, Seafood and Wine Festival

WHAT: The 33rd annual festival is a chance to enjoy coastal cuisine, arts and crafts, wine tasting and more.

WHEN: 4-9 p.m. April 24, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. April 25 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 26.

WHERE: Clatsop County Fair & Expo Center, 92937 Walluski Loop, Astoria, Oregon

EAT UP: There will be plenty to eat in addition to the namesake crab and seafood. There will be more than a dozen food vendors, some featuring German, Irish and Hawaiian cuisine. Among the vendors will be Café de la Rue, Crepe Neptune, Keli’s Hawaiian foods, Royal Cuisine and Urban German.

DRINK UP: The list of wineries and brewing companies scheduled to be on hand reads like a list found at many eateries around the region. More than 60 drink vendors will be at the festival. Among them are Rogue Ales, Tesoaria Vineyard & Winery, Misty Oaks Vineyard, Laurel Ridge Winery, Hip Chicks Do Wine and Astoria Brewing Co.

ADMISSION: April 24-25: $10 for adults and $5 for children (ages 5-12); April 26: $5 for adults and free for children ages 5-12. Free military admission, with an active duty military ID.

OF NOTE: No pets are allowed at the event. On-site parking is $15 and is limited. Visitors are urged to use the shuttle service, which is $3 round trip.
