THE FOOTHILLS DASH

WHAT: This fun run on the Foothills Trail starts and finishes at Orting Eagles Lodge. There are 5- and 10-kilometer races, and a 1-mile run. The trail is paved, wide and mostly flat.

WHEN: Saturday. Check in starts at 7 a.m., and the race starts at 9 a.m.

WHERE: The Eagles Lodge, 112 Bridge St. S., Orting.

GETTING THERE: Follow state Route 162 into Orting to the park. The race staging area is at the park’s basketball courts.

COST: $20; $10 for youth 12 and younger.

ALSO: Proceeds benefit local youth recreation programs. Shirts available to purchase for $15 at the event. Race sponsors will supply some refreshments. There will be prizes for the top three finishers in all male and female divisions. Those who preregistered can pick up their bibs Friday (March 6) at the Lakewood Community Center, 9112 Lakewood Drive SW. Participants can fill out registration paperwork in advance via the event website.
