Eatonville’s Hugo Peak Trail closed because of logging

Hugo Peak Trail, one of the most popular trails in Eatonville’s Pack Forest, is closed because of logging taking place on the University of Washington land.

Part of 1000 Road and other areas are also closed on the south side of the land. Pack Forest has more than 50 miles of trails and roads and many are still open. The Hugo Peak summit register can still be reached via several other routes including a horse trail, the northern section of 1000 Road and Reservoir Trail.

Signs at the forest say the closure will continue through February.
