Crystal Mountain cancels plans for Saturday opening

Crystal Mountain Resort has canceled its plans to open for Saturday now that forecasts call for a rainy, windy weekend.

The resort made the announcement Thursday via its website and social media. The ski area had planned to have a pineapple-themed ski day with limited operation. The ski area plans to reevaluate conditions on Monday, Dec. 22.

White Pass plans to begin daily operations with a limited opening Saturday. The Summit at Snoqualmie does not have enough snow to open.

The National Weather Service is predicting snow and rain in the mountains early next week.
