The Mount St. Helens Insitute’s first Boots and Bow Ties fundraiser generated $106,000 in donations.
The dinner and silent auction was help Nov. 15 at the Vancouver Hilton and more than 160 people attended wearing formal clothes accessorized with outdoor gear. The instutute says the money generated will benfit its science, education and stewardship programs.
“Boots & Bow Ties blends crucial support and awareness for the Mount St. Helens Institute with a fun experience that also brings together our local community,” Tod Thayer, MSHI executive director, said in a prepared statement.
