Clallam County is implementing a new campsite reservation system for the popular Salt Creek and Dungeness recreation areas starting Jan. 1, the parks department announced in a statement.
Most of the campers at these facilities — 70-80 percent, park supervisor Bruce Giddens said — come from outside Clallam County, “including a large number of visitors from Tacoma and Pierce County.”
The new system will require campers to make reservation online using a credit or debit card. Reservation will no longer be taken by mail as of Jan. 1.
