The National Forest Service is looking for volunteer eagle watchers for the Skagit River and North Cascades areas.
“You don’t have to know anything about eagles,” Tanya Kitterman, Eagle Watcher coordinator, said in a prepared statement. “We will teach you. All you need is a friendly attitude and the desire to talk with people.”
The volunteers will staff tents near eagle viewing areas along the Skagit River. From hear they will view eagles through scopes and educate viewers. They also lead nature walk and sometimes formal programs.
This is the 21st year for the Eagle Watcher program.
