2 events this week to prime skiers, snowboarders for looming season

There is snow on the ground at Cascade ski resorts.

Not enough to fire up the lifts, but enough to start getting excited about the coming ski season.

Two ski/snowboarding events are on the agenda this week for the South Sound.

The Harmon Brewery & Eatery’s annual Pray for Snow party is at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13. The event includes live music and prizes. Proceeds from the event go to YWCA Pierce County. It is the 18th year for the party.

The Ski Dazzle ski and snowboard show is Nov. 14-16 at the Century Link Field Event Center. The event is 3-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children 6-12. Adults receive a voucher for a free lift ticket. It is the ski show’s 45th year.
