The Washington State Board of Natural Resources authorized the purchase of 120 acres of forestland near Tenino, according to a statement released by the Department of Naturals Resources.
The land, located near Crane Road about 1.5 miles south of Tenino, will be purcahsed for $450,000 from a private seller. The land adjoins other state trust land.
The DNR will manage the parcel as a working forest to provide revenue for public school construction. In the DNR’s fiscal year ending June 30, Common School Trust lands produced $95.8 mill for school construction projects.
