1 Walk through DuPont

This Capitol Volkssport Club walk will cover 10 kilometers as it winds through DuPoint; there will be a 5-kilometer option as well; begins at 10 a.m. Thursday; 76 Station and Store, 100 Barksdale Ave. N., DuPont; free; capitolvolkssportclub.org.


2 Fishing the Yakima River

3 Chico Creek salmon walk

Salmon experts will give short presentations during this Great Peninsula Conservancy event; the walk is 1.5 miles over sometimes steep terrain; children are welcome; walks will start at 10 and 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Saturday; Chico Salmon Park on Golf Club Hill Road, Bremerton; free; register by sending an email to mary@greatpeninsula.org.


4 Peer into Puget Sound

Look for mysterious creatures living below the surface of Puget Sound during this Pier Peer presented by Metro Parks Tacoma; after looking for marine life, participants will go inside to warm up, drink hot cocoa and talk about what they saw; 7:30-9 p.m. Saturday; Point Defiance Marina, 5912 N.
