Olympic National Park is requesting volunteer assistance as it works to repair and improve trails around Hurricane Ridge.
Washington’s National Park Fund recently received a $50,000 grant for the work on the Grand Valley, Klahhane Ridge, Switchback, Elk Mountain and Badger Valley trails. Work will focus on improving walking surfaces and drainage. Those interested in volunteering should contact park trails foreman Larry Lack at 360-565-3178 for more information.
“September is a beautiful month in the Olympic National Park high country,” Olympic National Park superintendent Sarah Creachbaum said in a prepared statement.
