A section of the Cascade River Road, which provides access to popular North Cascades hikes, will be closed Sept. 8 through late October, the North Cascades National Park Service Complex announced this week.
The last three miles of the road will be closed to all vehicle and foot traffic to allowed crew to make road repairs. A 60-foot concrete box culvert will be installed at Boston Creek, an area that washes out regularly.
Access to Eldorado Peak will not be impacted. The park service recommends contacting the wilderness information center (360-854-7245) when planning trips to this area. The WIC is open daily through Oct. 12.
