Pier Peer program lets children view nighttime sea creatures

Learn about the marine life that calls Puget Sound home during a Pier Peer program held June 6 by the South Sound Estuary Association. Naturalists will use lights to attract sea creatures and explain what can be seen.

The program will begin at 9 p.m. at Boston Harbor Marina, 312 73rd Ave. NE, Olympia.

Participants should bring their own flashlights, wear nonslip shoes and dress for the weather. Parents should bring life vests for their children if they have them.

The cost is $10 per person 12 and older, while children ages 6-11 are admitted free. Each child 6-11 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is not suitable for children younger than 6.

The event is limited to 20 participants.
