Grandy Lake

Grandy once was the opening day party stop for upriver-dwelling anglers, but like many other fishing spots, Grandy has calmed in recent years. Its reputation for non-stop cutthroat trout action also has transformed tempered mixed stock fishery.

Season: Year-round.

Angler amenities: The Skagit County Park allows overnight camping and can be a nice quiet place after the opener and again in the fall after school starts.

Surface area: 10 acres.

In the catch: Cutthroat, largemouth bass, yellow perch and brown bullheads.

Stocking for 2008: None.

Special rules: None, statewide season, size and bag limits apply.

Boat launch: Skagit County Parks – on Baker Lake Road.

Getting there: Take Cook Road east to Sedro-Woolley, then drive east on Highway 20 to Baker Lake Road. Turn left and go six miles watch for lake on right.
