Carlton 5th in 50-meter breast

Bellingham Bay Swim Team member Emma Carlton finished sixth in the “B” final of the women’s 50-meter breaststroke at the 2016 Speedo Junior National Championships on Friday, Aug. 12, in Minneapolis.

Carlton, a 16-year-old junior at Mount Vernon High School, turned in a time of 26.62 seconds to finish 14th overall in the event – her second top-15 performance of the week, as she also finished 13th in the 100 butterfly on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

Carlton later joined with BBST’s Sydney Wong (Bellingham), Yanran Le (Bellingham) and Emma Frey (Mount Vernon) to turn in a time of 4:19.64 in the 400 meter medley relay, which was 10th overall.
