Post 7 cruises to 5-1 win behind Tutterrow

Bellingham Post 7 topped the Skagit Sox 5-1 on Wednesday, May 27, at Joe Martin Stadium.

Tanner Tutterrow threw four scoreless innings, striking out three, walking none and only allowing two hits.

But it’s the hitting that’s impressed coach Steve Slesk through the first two games of the season as high school players adjust to the wood bats. After 12 hits on Tuesday night, Post 7 collected 8 Wednesday.

“We jumped on them early, swung the bats well the first couple innings and they never threatened after that,” Slesk said in a phone interview. “We’re swinging the bats really good.”

Post 7 will play a league doubleheader against Lakeside Recovery Saturday, May 29, in Issaquah. Bellingham and Lakeside are usually the top two teams in the league, so it’s a big two games, Slesk said.

Post 7 5, Skagit 1
