Semiahmoo golf courses honored by golf media

Semiahmoo Resort, Golf, and Spa announced both Loomis Trail Golf Club and Semiahmoo Golf and Country Club were included in Golfweek’s 2015 “Best: State-by-State Courses You Can Play” list. In addition, Loomis Trail was named the top golf course in Washington in 2014 by GolfAdvisor.com.

Both of the resort’s golf courses were included in Golfweek’s “Best: State-by-State Courses You Can Play, 2015” list with Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club ranked at No. 7 and Loomis Trail Golf Club ranked at No. 5. This is the fifth consecutive year both courses made this list with Semiahmoo Golf and Country Club moving up the list from No. 8 for the first time since it first appeared on the list. Golfweek’s Best Courses list is created by a team of more than 725 course raters nationally who use a 10-point ranking system to identify the best course layouts. The number of courses listed per state varies based on course supply, population, and level of play; the list also includes daily-fee layouts and courses accessible via resorts.

Also recently, Loomis Trail was ranked first on GolfAdvisor.com’s “Top 10 Courses in Washington in 2014” list. Courses included on the list needed a minimum of 20 reviews from Golf Advisor raters in 2014 to qualify; courses that met this requirement were then ranked based on their reviews.

Loomis Trail Golf Club, designed by Graham Cooke, offers consistent, smooth, fast, and true greens with a canal and lake system bringing water into play on all 18 holes. The course is open to the public on even numbered days of the month. Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club, designed by Arnold Palmer, is a tree-lined, 7,005-yard course with challenging terrain and strategically placed ponds and bunkers. The course is open to the public on odd numbered days of the month. Both courses offer practice facilities including a driving range, putting and chipping greens, and practice bunkers. Both courses are located adjacent to Semiahmoo Resort.
