One fan will have an opportunity to come away a big winner at Sunday’s Back 2 Bellingham Battle featuring the Bellingham Slam and the WWU Alumni squad at Carver Gym.
During halftime of the basketball exhibition, one person in attendance will be selected to participate in a shooting contest featuring at $25,000 prize.
The contestant, chosen at random, will need to hit four shots of increasing difficultly: a lay-up, a free throw, a 3-pointer, and finally a half-court shot. The contestant will have an unlimited amount of attempts at the lay-up, free throw and three-pointer, and can only move on to the next shot after a successful basket. If the shooter successfully makes the first three baskets, they will have only one chance to make a shot from beyond the half-court line. All the shots must be completed in 30 seconds. If they are successful, the $25,000 cash prize is theirs!
The contest is being made possible through a sponsorship by the Silver Reef Hotel and Casino.

The halftime contest will add to what will already be an exciting event. A total of 23 former Viking players will be suiting up on both sides of the ball for Sunday’s game, which is part of an extensive lineup of campus events as part of Western Washington University’s annual Back 2 Bellingham alumni weekend.
The exhibition will be the last official basketball game at Carver Gym before the facility closes for two years as part of an extensive remodel. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets for the game cost $8 for adults and $5 for seniors. Children age 12 and under, as well as all WWU students, are free. Parking is free on the WWU campus during the game. Tickets are available at the door, or may be purchased in advance online at www.bellinghamslam.com or by calling (360) 734-SLAM.
