Huge Field Thrills Crowd at Deming Speedway

Ninety-three cars rolled into the pit area for racing at Deming Speedway on Friday, May 1, presented by Les Schwab, Napa of Bellingham and Mt Baker Powder Coating. Austin Sheridan capped the night with a thrilling win in the 600 division. Joining him in victory lane were Tyson Cross, Jared Peterson, Sawyer Sorgenfrei and Peyton Rambow.

Sheridan ran as smart of a tactical race as we’ve seen in a while at Deming Speedway in the Speedmart Hoosier 600 division. Second went to Kevin Wilkinson with Jacob Brown taking third. Tanner Holm was the fastest qualifier with Wilkinson, Jared Peterson, Sheridan and Brown winning the heats.

In the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 division, Tyson Cross picked up his first win of the season by passing Jake Helsel in the later stages of the race to grab the lead and eventual win. Jake Helsel ran second and Steven Hendrickson was third. Cross was the quick qualifier. Shaun Holtorf, Clennon Holloway and Tanner Reid won the heats.

Jared Peterson put a waxing on the field of Northwest Focus Midget Series drivers. Hannah Lindquist battled her way to a second place finish and Ryan Cully made a late race pass for third. Tristin Thomas was the fast qualifier. Heat winners were Peterson and Cully.

Sawyer Sorgenfrei collected his first career win in the Mytrafficman.NET 600 restricted class. Sorgenfrei led all twenty five laps of the feature. Watkins would settle for second with Cody Hogarth taking third. Heat race winners were Hogarth, Ashley Thompson and Bailey Sucich. JJ Thomas was the fastest car in qualifying.

Fresh off his first feature win, Peyton Rambow made it two in a row in the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprints. Hagen would take second with Tyler McLeod claming third. McLeod was fast time. Heat wins went to Hagen, Haley Constance and Macie Logsdon.
