The Bellingham Slam will be returning to the court for at least one game this spring, as the team is organizing an exhibition contest to take place Sunday, May 17, in Bellingham.
The Slam’s opponent for the game will be a Western Washington University alumni squad comprised of former Viking players from the past decade. With several players on the Slam being WWU graduates themselves, this is sure to be a fun, one-of-a kind event.
The game, set for 3 p.m. on May 17 at Carver Gymnasium, is taking place during the university’s annual Back to Bellingham alumni weekend and will also follow the end-of-season awards banquet for the WWU Men’s Basketball team, which will draw a number of former athletes back to campus.
The Slam, which had announced in February that it would not be participating in a traditional season in 2015, should have the majority of last season’s roster in place for the exhibition
