Mason Wade’s two second-period goals led the Bellingham Blazers to a 5-2 win over the Cheney Icehawks on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Nick Scherbinin opened scoring with his ninth goal of the season in the first period, and Garrett Foster had another in the first for the Blazers. Boris Knyazev, Valdislav Yefremov, Chad Haywood and Wade had assists in the first.
Cheney tied it up with two first-period goals of its own.
Wade’s two goals in the second went unanswered, and Kristjan Toivola added another on a power play to cement the win. Kyler Moore had two assists, Scott Hansen had one, and Yefremov, Knyazev and Haywood each added another assist in the final two periods.
