Bellingham High School’s Cody Roth sits in second place at the WJGA State Championships following completion of the second round Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Manito Golf and Country Club in Spokane.
Roth fired an opening-round 70 Wednesday, and followed that up with a second-round 70 to put him 3-under par. He trails Matt Marrese by a single stroke for the lead.
Lynden junior Ezra Arneson is tied for 12th after two rounds of competition, 10 back of Marrese at 6-over par.
Bellingham’s Nick Nolan and Rees Kruhlak both failed to make the cut, which was set at 8-over par.

Roth tees off for the third and final round at 9:29 a.m., Friday, Aug. 8, while Arneson goes out at 8:29 a.m.
