Bells rebound for victory at home

The Bellingham Bells scored six runs in the sixth inning en route to a 13-3 victory over Cowlitz on Saturday, July 7, at Joe Martin Field.

Andrew Olson earned the win with seven innings of work, allowing no earned runs and three hits.

On Friday, July 7, the Bells lost 5-1 in the opening game of the series against the Black Bears at Joe Martin Field.

Cowlitz took a 3-0 lead with a three-run fourth inning and went up 4-0 with a run in the fifth. Bellingham cut the lead to 4-1 in the sixth thanks to a RBI single off the bat of Bells’ outfielder Derek Atkinson, but Bellingham managed two hits in the final three innings of play.

Jonny Locher and Michael Leach led the Bells at the plate with two hits apiece.
