Lynden Christian wins 4-0 after field adjustments

Lynden Christian girls’ soccer won 4-0 against Nooksack Valley on Tuesday, Sept. 8, in their second game of the season.

“It was a much better game than our opener on Saturday,” said Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter in a phone interview. “I felt the girls did a great job on improving the things we talked about.”

Younger players stepped up to make notable efforts on the field, including sophomore Felicia Moorleg. Ellie VanderVeen played centerback and some position adjustments on the field came together well, De Ruyter said.

Both teams play again on Thursday, Sept. 10. Lynden Christian plays against Lynden at 4 p.m. at Bender Fields and Nooksack Valley goes up against Anacortes at 6 p.m. at Anacortes High School.
