Blaine girls’ soccer ties 3-3 in opening game against Sultan

The Blaine girls’ soccer team ended up tying Sultan 3-3 at Pipeline Fields to open the 2015 season.

“A more organized attack is going to be our goal for the rest of the season,” Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview.

Blaine’s Maria Gobbato scored the first goal at three minutes on a set play, assisted by Ashley Quesada who scored the second for Blaine. Ariyana VanderVeen-Raum scored the final goal to tie the game with seven minutes left on the clock.

Blaine plays again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Mount Baker.
