Blaine’s boys’ soccer team suffered a 5-0 Northwest Conference loss to Anacortes on Tuesday, April 28, at Pipeline Fields.
Takeo and Aki Nystrom each scored a pair of goals for the Seahawks. Four of the Anacortes goals came in the first half, and the final tally was in the second to last minute of the game.
“I think the team played well in the second half,” Blaine coach Giovanni Quesada said in a phone interview. “In the first half we looked timid. We weren’t in position. Second half, it was a totally different team and the guys had more passion and energy.”
Konner VanRijswick was one player Quesada thought brought his full effort throughout the entire game. He had good communication and pushed the ball forward from the back, Quesada said.
