Peterson scores 2 in win

Ben Peterson scored two goals for Squalicum’s boys’ soccer team in its 3-0 victory against Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, April 16, at Whatcom Community College.

The Storm’s Peterson scored his first goal in the 15th minute off a Brandon Burbank assist and added another goal seven minutes later. Carlos Tovar netted a goal in the 65th minute off a Quinn Carpenter assist.

“They played well and took care of business in the first half,” Squalicum coach Joe McAuliffe said in a phone interview. “We controlled the ball in the second half and didn’t give up many opportunities.”

Squalicum will take on Burlington-Edison next at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23, on the road.
