Bruntil scores two goals in Mount Bakers’ 2-0 win

Taylor Bruntil scored both goals for Mount Baker’s boys’ soccer team in its 2-0 victory against Blaine on Thursday, April 16, at Mount Baker High School.

Bruntil’s first goal was assisted by Jesus Torrero in the third minute. Bruntil then scored off of a 55 yard free kick in the 56th minute.

“Our goal this game was to play the entire 80 minutes with the 11 guys we have available,” Mount Baker coach Jason Jorgensen said in a phone interview. “They kept up the pressure in the second half. It was good to see them play the full 80 minutes today.”

Mount Baker will play Nooksack Valley next at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Nooksack Valley Elementary School. Blaine takes on Sehome next at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Civic Stadium.
