Bellingham nets 2 second half goals, beats Blaine 3-1

Kyle Sentkowski scored the lone goal for the Blaine boys’ soccer team in its 3-1 loss against Bellingham on Wednesday, April 8, at Pipeline Fields.

After conceding an early own goal in the 25th minute, Blaine only allowed two goals off 18 shots from the Red Raiders. Dane Thurston and Anders Botterill scored the two goals for Bellingham.

The Borderites’ goalkeeper Tristan Soto had 17 saves in the game.

“It was a good game against one of the big teams in the conference,” Blaine coach Giovanni Quesada said in a phone interview. “We play with a lot of intesity and Bellingham does the same. A lot of guys from JV played and stepped up.”

Blaine will play Mount Baker next at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, on the road and Bellingham will take on Burlington-Edison next at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Northwest Soccer Park.
