Bellingham’s baseball team was unable to come up with the winning hit at the end of a 2-1 loss to Friday Harbor on Thursday, April 2, at Joe Martin Field.
The Red Raiders had the winning and tying runs on base with two outs in the bottom of the seventh but flied out to the center fielder to end the game. They also had an opportunity to tie in the sixth, but left another man on base.
“We didn’t make adjustments at the plate,” Bellingham coach David Farrell said in a phone interview. “Some balls weren’t hit very hard. We squared up a couple, but not many.”
Aidan Quinn took the loss for the Red Raiders but did his part to give the team a shot to win by inducing ground balls and double plays, Farrell said.
