Squalicum defeats Blaine 2-0

Brandon Burbank netted a goal in the 25th minute off a Tyler Hughes assist in Squalicum’s 2-0 win against Blaine on Wednesday, April 1, at Pipeline Fields.

In the 75th minute, an own goal by Blaine made the game a 2-0 score.

“I really liked how our team played against one of the top teams in the conference,” Blaine coach Giovanni Quesada said in phone interview. “My goalkeeper Tristan Soto was the man of the match for the team tonight.”

Blaine had four shots on goal and Squalicum had 15 shots on goal. Soto saved 14 shots in the game and Cole Herman saved two shots for Squalicum.

Blaine takes on Vashon Island next at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at home and Squalicum takes on Sehome next at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Civic Stadium.
