Burbank’s last minute goal lifts Squalicum to 2-1 win

Brandon Burbank scored both goals for Squalicum’s boys’ soccer team, including a goal in the final seconds to lift the team to a 2-1 victory against Anacortes on Monday, March 30, at Anacortes High School.

The Storm’s Owen Davis-Bower saved two shots and as a team, 13 shots on goal were taken by Squalicum.

“It helped to get the win on the last minute goal,” Squalicum coach Joe McAuliffe said in a phone interview. “We had lots of opportunities (to score) this game.”

Squalicum takes on Blaine next at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Pipeline Fields.
