Sehome got in a 2-0 hole early and couldn’t climb out, suffering a 3-0 Northwest Conference loss to Burlington-Edison on Monday, March 30, at Burlington-Edison.
The Mariners were without some key players and couldn’t make the adjustments in time to compensate, coach John Sylvester said in a phone interview.
“They exploited where we were out of sync,” he said. “Kris (Nilsen) had two really nice individual efforts where we weren’t as solid as normally and he made us pay by making good runs and solid shots.”
Sylvester highlighted freshmen Gus Diehl and Sam Pacheco-Rodriguez, who were called up from the junior varsity squad to fill in for absent starters. The game was Pacheco-Rodriguez’s first as a varsity contributor.
