Ramirez nets 2 goals in Lynden’s 5-0 win

Jordi Ramirez scored a goal in the ninth minute and added another goal in the 65th minute to lead Lynden’s boys’ soccer team to a 5-0 victory against Blaine on Monday, March 30, at Pipeline Fields.

The Lions’ Ernesto Zamora scored a goal in the 31st minute after Lynden hit the Borderites’ goal frame on five shots in a row. Hector Gutierrez got the shutout in goal for Lynden.

“I thought we were solid,” Lynden coach Drew Smiley said in a phone interview. “We found the net today and kept a clean sheet.”

Lynden will take on Lynden Christian next at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at home.
