Lyncs shut out by Seahawks

Lynden Christian suffered a 4-0 loss to Anacortes in a Northwest Conference game on Tuesday, March 24, at Anacortes.

“We played a good 38 minutes in the first half, and then the wheels fell off right before the half and it took the wind out of our sails,” Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. “We did some decent things at the beginning of the second again, too. We just need to fight through and be more consistent, that was the key. We lost focus a couple of times and you can’t do that.”

Liam Kroontje thwarted Anacortes’ attack and battled in the midfield and along the backline, De Ruyter said.

Cody Fransen also worked hard in the forward position, but the Lyncs couldn’t get the ball to him in space, the LC coach added.

Lydnen Christian takes on Meridian at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March, 26, in an NWC game at home.
